Carbon Fiber Tubes

Carbon Fiber Source

The supplier: https://dzhuikai.en.alibaba.com/

This is who I have vetted and currently order straight and tapered tubes from. They have been great to work with and have gone so far as to add foamfighting/LARP-specific options to their product pages based on the specifications of the tubes I have tested.

Multiple groups and individuals around the US have started ordering from them, as well. I have provided tubes for testing to multiple vendors and know of at least one other that ordered a batch to test and has had weapons made on carbon from this source for sale at events. Notably, though, I did not see their prices reflect the lower cost of the material from this source.

At a certain threshold, you will save money by ordering directly from the supplier. To avoid customs concerns, have someone checking the carbon before it is sent to you, and to get it at a more reasonable minimum quantity/cost you would be better off ordering from me.

More information regarding the carbon itself and placing orders from the manufacturer can be found here: https://wiki.whackerdashery.com/materials/cores/types-and-sourcing/carbon-fiber-tubes/ordering-custom-carbon

Ordering From Me

You can request a quote via [email protected].

I can accept payments easily via Venmo, Zelle, and Paypal. I can do cash or card transactions in person, when relevant. I do not account for any processor fees in my pricing, so the 3% fee charged by PayPal would be added to your total cost; other payment methods do not have this fee.

I do not charge for in-person deliveries or pick ups, so long as I am already going to be at the relevant event or you are coming to me. Shipping is flat rate, and orders may be broken up into multiple parcels to save on cost. If I already have stock on hand, I generally am able to get it shipped out within 2 weeks of an order being placed; I am working on making this faster.

If you need to place a large order, it is best to do this when I am placing my restock orders. I announce these on Discord in the various communities I am in. There is no real limit on quantities for those orders, but I do often have to restrict my on-hand stock to smaller orders inbetween those larger group orders and often lock my on-hand stock to event attendees because I generally have 20 or fewer of any single SKU at one time. I do not give discounts for "pre-orders" for event delivery nor for group orders in general. I just offer these at the price that would have been that discounted price at all times, instead. Ordering during group orders is a huge kindness to others who may want to place smaller orders in the in-between, and makes things much easier on my end, which is appreciated.

I charge for cutting tubes to custom lengths. This starts at $5 and is $1 per additional cut after the first.

Payment methods are provided on request or along with quotes.

Notes:

SKUs are "Outer Diameter x Wall Thickness" . Dimensions are "Outer Diameter*Inner Diameter*Length". Tapered Dimensions are "(OD*ID-OD*ID) @Length", indicating dimensions at either end. Decknamen (code names) are just for fun and should not be used to place orders.

Normal Stock

These are SKUs I try to keep on hand and bring with me to events. No guarantees are made for any spec, but these are the ones that have proven reliable and best for purpose, so far.

Experimental Specs

These are specs that are being tested. I may or may not have them on hand. These, or any spec you would like to test, can be ordered during group orders. Prices for all but couplers are tester prices, slightly lower than I would normally put my margin, while they are still being vetted.

Carbon Tube Shipping

To keep shipping costs as low as possible, there are a few things that must be kept in mind:

  • Shipments are flat rate

  • These cost numbers apply to the contiguous US only

    • Canada and Mexico are doable, but each order must be a custom quote

  • Orders will be split into multiple parcels to reduce costs if relevant

  • Tubes < 48" = Short Tubes, Tubes > 48" = Long Tubes

  • Parcels with long tubes in them must stay under 2" across, or shipping costs jump by $150

    • This generally equates to 5 long tubes per parcel

    • Some tubes are able to nest inside of each other, which can increase this limit

    • Mixed orders would have short tubes paired up end to end, with 2 taking the space of a single long tube in the relevant parcel

    • Request a quote to get a parcel breakdown for costs assessment

    • Long tube parcels ship for $35 each

  • Parcels with only short tubes, and 10 or fewer, ship for $25 each

    • Larger orders can be done, just request a quote

  • Long tube parcels will always ship separate from orders of foam, but short tubes can be mixed with foam orders if it is more efficient for cost

    • This would adhere to the shipping formulas for 48" foam reblades, which can be found on the Foam page

Bear in mind: These 99" long shipments sometimes get held up at the local post office. If you are seeing a delay in shipment, this is likely why. On one occasion, I had to recover a shipment in person and send it again instead of just being able to handle it over the phone. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any concerns.
